Important Training Dates

Wells Gray Search and Rescue hold evening training sessions on the second and fourth Monday and half-day sessions on the third Saturday of each month. The 1st Thursday is an optional practice. The evening sessions usually focus on training new members and review for existing members. Saturday sessions may practice mock rope rescue, avalanche, swift water or tracking scenarios or involve a team-building group activity.

Courses that can result in certification in these disciplines are provided by the Justice Institute of BC and professional training organizations. SAR members who have completed their Ground Search and Rescue certification are eligible to apply for these courses and can qualify for a variety of funding subsidies.

Training takes place at or we leave from our HQ building on the road to the Fresh Water Fisheries Society of BC Clearwater Trout Hatchery, 36 E Old North Thompson Highway.
